GOS18 & EeRS Referral System

The GOS18 & EeRS Referral System supports practices to make electronic referrals in accordance with local protocols via Opera. See recent news about this here.

This is available according to the area the patient is registered with a GP. There maybe some restrictions on which referrals are applicable dependent on the area and arrangements in place. The list of areas it is in use and the types of referrals is outlined below.

EeRS Programme (Electronic Eyecare Referral Service)  

This function is currently applicable for  ALL NHS Referrals (Routine, urgent and emergency) in the following areas:

  • NHS Mid & South Essex ICS 
  • NHS Cheshire & Merseyside ICS 
  • NHS Greater Manchester ICS 
  • NHS Lancashire & South Cumbria ICS 

(NOTE: Emergency referrals should also be accompanied with other processes as per local protocols)

PES Triage and GOS18 Referral Programme

This function is currently applicable for  Routine & Urgent Referrals ONLY via Opera Only in the following areas: 

  • Bassetlaw (part of NHS Nottingham & Nottinghamshire ICS)
  • West Hampshire (part of NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICS)
  • Westminster (part of NHS North West London ICS) 
  • Merton (part of NHS South West London ICS)
  • Wandsworth (part of NHS South West London ICS)
  • Croydon (part of NHS South West London ICS)

WET AMD Referrals Programme: 

This function is currently applicable for  WET AMD Referrals ONLY in the following areas: 

  • NHS Frimley ICS (specifically Surrey Heath &  North East Hampshire and Farenham) 
  • Guilford & Waverley (part of NHS Surrey Heartlands ICS) 
  • Surrey Downs (part of NHS Surrey Heartlands ICS)
