Changing referral appointment dates

The below guidance will advise you on how to amend the appointment date for Post Cataract, Integrated Children's Service, Glaucoma Monitoring, Pre Cataract Referral Services, MECS and Post Vision Screening referrals on OPERA. This means that if a patient’s appointment needs to be rearranged, the updated date can be recorded or changed.

Locating episodes from manage referrals 

  1. Select ‘general’.
  1. From the dropdown menu, choose ‘manage referrals’ 
  1. Search the OPR number you wish to update. 

The relevant episode will then be displayed.

To change the appointment date once you have located the appointment you wish to amend, select the calendar icon, as shown below.

Once you click the calendar icon, a pop-up will appear as ‘Appointment Information’, where you can update and amend the appointment date and time. 

Once the ‘Save Changes’ button has been selected, the patient's appointment details will then update.
