Calendar Functions

OPERA has a range of new calendar functions that are being introduced for those forms that have appointment booking functions. The list below will be updated as services are added.

Making appointments

Appointments are made in the appropriate booking form as normal.  For example, in the ICS module we can book an appointment for a patient like this:

We can set the appointment and also send an email to the patient which includes all details of their appointment (see later).

Viewing Appointments for Patient and Practice

You will notice a new icon on the episode row in OPERA:

You can click the calendar icon to see details of the appointment and change them if required:

You can also click "add to calendar" to add to your own Outlook or other calendar.  The appointment will also be visible in the central calendar service which can be accessed by the Calendar menu item in General. You can also view a full schedule of upcoming appointments.  Note that the information show here is the same as sent to the patient if you elect to send via email or SMS.
