ODS Codes

What is an ODS code, how do I find it and what is it used for?

An ODS code (also called an Organisation Code) is a unique code created by the Organisation Data Service within NHS Digital, and used to identify organisations across health and social care.

All optical practices have a unique ODS code. You can search the database and identify your code here:

https://odsportal.digital.nhs.uk/Organisation/Search

If you identify any errors in your listing on the ODS portal please contact the exter helpdesk. Details can be found in the Contact us part of the NHS ODS Portal webpage above.

Your ODS code will be used as your unique practice identifier within OPERA and associated invoices for extended services commissioned via Primary Eyecare Services.

You should use your ODS code as a reference number when raising queries with us.
